    Sri Lanka´s catalogue of Eco assets includes 3350 species of endemic and indigenous flowering plants 8pecies, of mammals, 441 species of birds, 242 butterfly and 137coral species, 170 species of orchids, 500kinds of medical herbs, every variety of tropical species and more than 60 kind of precious and semi precious gems, cultural assets including impressive heritage sites, fascinating life styles arts and crafts of an ethnically diverse population , Sri Lanka´s seven UNESCO world heritage sites, 13 national parks, a biodiversity park , and 93 other protected natural areas added value to an Eco Tourism resource base of immense abundance, All above exist within 65,525 square Km.
    The Singharaja Rain forest Singharaja is the only remaining virgin tropical Rain forest in Sri Lanka,. Over 90% of Sinharaja´s flora and about 59% of its fauna are endemic in Sri Lanka. Sinharaja was declared a part of the International Network of Man and Biosphere Reserves in 1978 and World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1989.
    Sinharaja reserve is a strip of forest about 21 kilometers in length and 7 kilometers at its maximum width. With a total of 11,187 hectares it spreads over Ratnapura, Galle & Matara district.
    Being a tropical wet evergreen forest, tall trees growing to a height of 35 to 40 meters is a characters of this forest. The giant Navada (Shorea stipularis) is a major attraction in Sinharaja. Over 500 years old, this tree is 6.4 meters in diameter with an average height of 43 meters.
    Birds life makes Sinharaja an Ornithologist´s paradise. Sinharaja provides shelter for 141 species. This includes 19 endmic species. Red Faced Mal Koha, Sri Lanka Blue Magpie, Sri Lanka Jungle Fowl and Dusky Blue Flycatcher, Serendib scopes Owl, are some of the endemic bird species found in Siharaja.
    Most Commonly seen mammals are sambhur, barking deer and green leaf monkeys. Elephant and leopards though found in the forest are not seen frequently. Eight endemic mammal specie are found in Siharaja. Other endemic life found in Sinharaja includes 21 butterfly species, 10 amphibian species and 21 reptile species.
    Many of Sinharaja´s bio diversity secrets are yet to be discovered.

Food prepared for main restaurant & "Ambalama" (for snacks) has all the transparency. Most of the activities can be seen by the visitors.
    There will be Sri Lankan cookery lessons & demonstrations conducted by the villagers who are experts in traditional cooking.
    Menu is not complicated, the vegetable & fruits are grown in the Rainforest Edge organic farm, without any pesticides or chemical manure. We might be the only nature resort in Sri Lanka, where all dishes served are guaranteed of organic nature, because we grow our own supplies. It was the era long before colonialism that every villager cultivated their own supplies. Of course it is hard work
