From Bandaranaike International Airport to Hikkaduwa is about 133 Km, situated in the southa coastal, accessible by train and bus and is central to many of the other wonderful tourist destinations in Sri Lanka.

Hikkaduwa is a main surfing destination in Sri Lanka and annually attracts surfers from Australia, UK, Japan, Italy, Israel, U.S.A., and many more. There are 3 to 4 surf points with clear, warm water in the Hikkaduwa area. Most of the surf points are reef breaks. All spots have a deep bottom & flat reef.
The wave size ranges from 2~7 feet during the season. The main point called "main reef" has "A" frame shape waves, which you can ride in both directions.
